workaholism


In recent centuries there was an excessive progression of working conditions. Hours of work for the increase in leisure and rest have decreased by a qualitative leap in quality of life. The balance between the hours of work, leisure and rest is decisive for the personal well-being. However, today's society in day, society of consumption, powers the tombstone of leisure time for additional work to do increase profits in consumption. Is in this context where has begun to explore a "new" psychological disorder characterized by loss of control at work: work addiction. The notion of addiction has traditionally been associated with drugs.

However, addictive disorders have two fundamental components: lack of control and dependency. There are harmless behavioral habits that become addictive in appearance. Certain problematic behavior can be considered similar to those with drug addicts psychopathology. I.e. psychological addiction symptoms are similar to chemical addictions. The human being needs an overall satisfaction with various activities. If it is unable to allocate their time in various activities, you can focus on just one. Any conduct, either normal or pleasurable, is susceptible to addiction. Addictive behaviors are controlled first by strengthening positive, but then end up being controlled by negative strengthening.

Addiction is determined depending on the degree of interference of relationships. Psychological addictions: repetitive behaviors that are enjoyable and that generated a loss of control on the subject. So far the intense dedication to work has been regarded as good: as a positive addiction. It has begun to consider this phenomenon as a serious disorder with their physical and psychological consequences. Work addiction is characterized by:-A progressive, excessive involvement in work with loss of control with respect to the limits of the work and that affects other areas of everyday life. -The envelope involvement responds to lust or personal need more needs of the working environment, is distinguished by normally accompanied by overvalued ideas attitude.
